Thanks Mom!

My Mom sent me a wonderful little surprise yesterday from Harry and David. It was like a little birthday party in a stack of cute boxes. I always love the boxes that they package their gifts in and save them all. This was a Happy Birthday tower and was filled with candy, popcorn, a little cake and some pears. What a treat and the boxes will be perfect for sorting out and storing some sewing supplies.

Thanks Mom!

Hi Ferne,

Thanks for the lovely comments you have left on my quilting. The feather quilting really is quite simple once you learn the little secrets... :)

As for the bamboo batting, I have to say I have never used it before. Since you are looking for something light to quilt a litte, I would think the Mountain Mist Cotton would probably work the best for a table topper. That way, it will still lay really flat, and not too lofty....

I don't know if that helps... :)

Have a great week ahead - I am sure we will chat again throughout the week!

Hi Ferne,

Me again... just did some reading on Bamboo Batting. It might just work for your purpose. This is what I found on the Fairfield website:
Bamboo Batting
Bamboo has wonderful properties that make it the perfect fiber to use in batting. The thermal characteristics of bamboo actually pull moisture away from the body. It has wonderful breathability, making you warm in cooler climates and cool in warmer climates. The use of bamboo fiber also makes this an environmentally friendly product.

Bamboo batting is soft and supple to the touch. It has a beautiful consistent drape. The thin scrim makes it perfect for machine quilting and allows a quilting distance of up to 8". It is the most luxurious batting on the market today.
