My first quilt!
Well, here it is my first real quilt. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. It is not perfect, but that makes it mine! I am loving the fabrics though as I look at the pictures I realized that it looks like Christmas...I still love the fabrics. Now I am already thinking of more projects to start, I had forgotten how much I love sewing. I am not sure that I want to tackle another quilt though, if I do I would take it somewhere to have it quilted after I do the piecing. It was too hard to handle all that fabric on my machine. I mostly did quilt in the ditch with a design I made up for the border. I kept it simple so it made for an enjoyable experience. Keep checking back to see what I come up with next... the sewing bug has bitten!
Speaking of biting I just recieved a copy of "More from Magnolia - recipes fromt he world famous bakery" There are some really wonderful and fun recipes for cupcakes that I can't wait to try out! I have listed a new link on my blog for Cupcakes at Home...there are some fun recipes and ideas there also so check it out if you have a sweet tooth, you will be amazed at how many ways you can make cup cakes! Very fun!!!! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of one more fun cookbook called "Cupcake Cafe Cookbook", I'll post my reviews of both books after I try a few recipes on my family and co-workers.

Meet Theresa and Nathan!
There are a few people who have become important in my son, Andy's life and I would like to introduce them to the other members of my family who check out my blog occasionally...they are Theresa and her son, Nathan. They have all been spending a lot of time together and having fun. Philina and I colored eggs with them last week and got a chance to meet Theresa's Mom...a good time was had by all! One little guy ended up with more color on him than some of the eggs.
I met a little friend on my deck this morning hiding in my bay tree. He is furry and black with white spots. A little frightening when you are not expecting him, but I didn't kill him. I hope he is taking care of things out there and that our paths will not cross again.
I have not been having much time for working on craft projects, but have found some fun things on other people's blogs this past week. Cherry Menlove is selling some cute t-shirts on her site...very simple with some cute sayings on them...one of which I hope to be wearing one day soon. I found a fun project that I just might try making, fabric covered thumb tacks. The tutorial for these is about half way down the page on this link. They look like a fun addition for my bulletin board which has to reside in my living room because of a lack of space in my one bedroom apartment. If this works I will take some pictures and post them. That is all that I have to share for now! Hope you are enjoying all that life has to offer at this point in time!

Happy Easter! Happy Spring!
Easter sure did sneak up on me this year. I thought it was still at least a week away, but I turned the calender and there it was. I hope you all have a very nice celebration in what ever traditional way you celebrate it. I will be working. We must be open to supply our customers with those last minute plant baskets and plants and gifts. A lot of people here are in the mood to do something with their yard and many will want to spend the day doing just that so I will be there to help. The rest of the day I will just relax and cook up something yummy.
Wishing you all a Happy Easter!
